Wilwood DynaPro Narrow Lug-Mount forged billet calipers represent the newest generation of brake calipers available as an upgrade or replacement for applications previously using the long-standing Dynalite model series. DP calipers combine pure race technology with several new exclusive Wilwood performance enhancements. This series is designed using stress-flow forged from premium grade billet aluminum. Stress-flow forging realigns the grain structure of the metal within the contour of the body design. This process produces a part with superior strength over parts simply machined from straight grained blocks of billet. The FEA generated body design incorporates a highly fortified radial transition that eliminates steps and shoulders between the piston housings and the bridges. Incorporating a radius in this critical area substantially increases resistance to deflection and caliper body separation under load. Structural deflection and volume displacement testing have proven the efficiency of this innovative design. Reductions in overall deflection, and the subsequent decreases in fluid volume displacement, translate to increased clamping efficiency with less pedal travel. The bottom line is a firm, responsive pedal with outstanding stopping power. These brake calipers are loaded with other enhancements for performance and wider application. Computer-generated design and stress analysis technology provided substantial improvements in strength and performance over all comparable narrow-mount brake calipers. Stress-flow forging re-aligns the metal's grain structure within the contour of the caliper body. This eliminates the breaks and interruptions to the internal grain structure that occur when machining a straight block billet. For the ultimate control on the street or track, dual master cylinders with an adjustable balance bar allow brake bias to be fine-tuned to conditions and driver preference. Wilwood provides you with the ability to have that ultimate control with their master cylinders and tandem mount balance bar kits. The kits feature a tandem mount balance bar assembly offered with or without eyelet and paired with either two high-volume, aluminum master cylinders or two compact, remote flange master cylinders for those with limited space applications but requiring the output capacity of a full-size master cylinder. The tandem mount balance bar assembly (with or without eyelet) give modified street cars and trucks the precision-control usually reserved for race vehicles. Each one is a lightweight, forged billet aluminum assembly that bolts to the firewall, replacing the tandem master cylinder with a balance bar and sturdy dual master cylinder mounts for two race-type vertical bolt pattern master cylinders, with no custom fabrication needed. You can easily adjust brake bias with the included knob and the bar assembly is designed with oval mounting holes for 3.22 in. to 3.40 in. on-center studs for a wide variety of vehicle fitments. Wilwood's high-volume aluminum master cylinders feature high-pressure, diecast bodies with the highest fluid capacity of any integral reservoir design. With a total capacity of 8.2 oz., there is at least 26 percent more fluid volume than other brands, and more fluid volume means cooler temperatures and additional insurance for extreme conditions where high pad wear can compromise fluid levels during long events. The 1 7/16 in. piston travel offers plenty of margin when used with large 4- or 6-piston calipers and the heavy-duty internal springs provide fast retraction. Formed steel lids with bellows-type gaskets keep the moisture out. Wilwood's compact remote flange master cylinders have ultra-short 3.37 in. black e-coated aluminum bodies to provide 2.16 in. of additional clearance between the mounting flange and the fluid outlet. A full 1.12 in. of piston stroke meets or exceeds the stroke capacity of most full size cylinders, and with a 1/8 in. NPT fluid outlet port located at the top radius of the cylinder bore, the chance for trapped air is reduced. An enhanced fluid inlet port allows mounting of the standard reservoir included and also contains 11/16 in.-20 internal threads for custom reservoir arrangements.
