AutoMeter competition LCD displays are the next evolution of driver communication and data acquisition. Designed for the harshest environments, their carbon composite housings are IP65 sealed against water and dust intrusion and will easily withstand 20g of continuous vibration and 50g of shock. A 7 in. LCD panel ensures easy visibility under all conditions with a retina level pixel density, unmatched brightness, and an optically bonded lens for extreme glare suppression. The display layout is fully configurable. Each system will accommodate four programmable data us channels (two CAN and two serial) in conjunction with a nearly limitless amount of discrete analog sensors and its integrated 3-axis accelerometer. Data collection at up to 1 kHz and the internal memory allows for practically infinite recording time. User-definable warnings take advantage of super bright, multicolor LEDs placed around the perimeter of the chassis to alert the driver to critical on-screen information. AEM Electronics CD-7 digital racing dash displays feature 7 in. full-color digital screens that are super bright, high contrast, and with sunlight-readable displays. To ensure visibility at all times, they also have integrated glare diffusers and shade hoods to overcome the brightest daylight conditions. The CD-7s are designed to accept channels from CAN bus connections—and two CAN bus channels are included so that they can receive and collect data from AEMnet-enabled devices. Seven ultra-bright LEDs span the top of the display housing for rpm and shift light indication. You can program them to ascend in specific increments based on rpm range, and flash when it's time to shift. Brightness is also programmable on the fixed color LEDs. Two large buttons are included on the face of the display, allowing easy page changing and memory resetting—even with driving gloves on. These button functions are duplicated on the rear connector, allowing you to mount remote buttons on the steering wheel, if desired. Two additional programmable LEDs are located above the toggle buttons on the sides of the housing. AEM offers the CD-7 as "display only" (non-logging) or with built-in logger (CD-7L). The units are available in either a cast aluminum or carbon fiber composite housing—with sealed connectors on the rear and anti-vibration mounts.
