Ultimate Headers 321 Stainless Steel Headers integrate a cutting-edge, patented design, created specifically for maximum performance and minimal weight, with 3D-engineered flanges, and superior 321 stainless steel to deliver a unique combination of elegance and horsepower. Born in World War II for aircraft engine exhaust manifolds by adding titanium to basic nickel/chromium alloy steel, 321 stainless provides reduced weight, plus increased resistance to material fatigue and thermal cracking in high-heat environments. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) processes are used to create Ultimate Headers and the unique Ultimate Flanges with their signature, high-tech, ribbed reinforcements that reduce weight, improve flange cooling, and lessen heat-induced warpage; while providing the required clamping forces to eliminate leakage. Ultimate 321 Stainless Steel Headers' tight radius, investment-cast, 316L stainless steel elbows immediately turn the header tubes away from the exhaust ports with a radius smaller than the tube diameter (which can't be done using a tube bender); holding the header tubes close to the block—perfect for engine swaps. Investment casting also maintains the desired wall thickness and avoids the thinner sidewall created by tube bending at the point where exhaust gas temperature and volume are at their highest. These benefits, combined with the advanced Cometic MLS (multi-layer stainless steel) header gaskets included with each set of headers, give Ultimate Headers 321 Stainless Steel Headers the leading edge when it comes to adding a total performance-enhancing exhaust system. Stainless Works offers turbo header kits for a variety of vehicles and applications—including fitment with AFR and Victor small block heads. In the "down and forward" turbo kits, the header flanges are made with 3/8 in. thick 304 stainless steel, and the tubing is .065 wall 304 stainless steel with 1 7/8 in. primaries and 3 in. slip-fit collectors. 3 in. V-band flanges and clamps are provided and welded on for both headers to crossover connections. Each complete system is TIG-welded and back purged for maximum performance. Kits contain headers, 3 in. x .065 wall 304 stainless steel crossover tube and 3/8 in. stainless steel turbo flange welded onto outlet. Also included: 7-gauge 304 stainless steel turbo mounting bracket, 1/4 in. thick aluminum motor plate, and 304 stainless steel downpipe with is coned from 5 in. to 4 in. diameter with a 90 degree bend and 12 in. minimum length leg on the outlet side. (Customer is required to provide 5 in. V-band flange for welding to inlet of downpipe.) Order the turbo header kit recommended for your vehicle.
