These new clean sheet designed aftermarket blocks are cast in a modern state-of-the-art German foundry on brand new molds and machined in USA on modern high-speed machining centers that can hold the tightest of tolerances. Why start your engine build with a dirty, old, worn-out production block that needs hundreds or thousands of dollars of machine work--when you can start with a new heavy-duty casting full of high-performance features. We ship these blocks mostly finished but leave the cylinder bore .005" undersize, your machine shop will have to hone them for proper size. Chevrolet Performance Bowtie Sportsman blocks have been the starting point for countless racing engines. These iron blocks are available in a variety of finish options to build almost any engine combination. Most of these blocks have siamesed cylinder walls and 4-bolt main caps that are secured by Grade 8 bolts. All blocks in this family have a 9.025 in. deck height. The Bowtie Sportsman blocks are a great foundation for your serious street car, circle track, or drag car that makes between 350 and 500 hp.
