Sonnax case saver retainers are designed for 1999 and later GM 4L80-E units—and are the only intermediate clutch retaining ring case saver that allows the intermediate band to be retained. The case savers fit over the intermediate band anchor lug inside the case and extends rearward to support the intermediate clutch backing plate retaining ring, preventing case lug blow-out. Over the years there have been a variety of case saver designs, however, all required eliminating the intermediate band, as is often done in drag racing trans-brake applications. Only Sonnax case saver retainers support the intermediate clutch retaining ring yet are thin enough to allow the intermediate band to be installed to provide case lug protection in all applications.

GM 6L45, 6L50, 6L80 and 6L90 automatic transmission units may exhibit multiple line pressure and cooler/converter/lube flow problems due to excess wear in the pressure regulator bore. Deterioration at the balance spool end allows critical fluid loss, resulting in high line pressure, harsh shifts, and overheating due to reduced cooler/converter flow. Wear at the outboard spool robs converter feed pressure and lowers line pressure, resulting in soft shifts and burnt clutches. Installing a Sonnax pressure regulator valve kit restores the hydraulic integrity of these circuits for proper line pressure control in all ranges. A new pressure regulator valve outer spring is also included to replace weakened original springs and provide a modest 5 psi increase across the pressure curve. Sonnax manual shift shafts help rebuilders use late model cores to rebuild into early model units. Sonnax manual shift shafts contain early model manual shift shafts that retrofit to a late model manual shaft detent lever, allowing the late model case and detent lever to be used in early models. These shafts offer a more economical solution than the OE manual shift shaft and detent lever kit, without the added cost for such additional components as the OE lever, pin, and shaft seal--parts rarely used during the rebuild. The manual shift shaft and fasteners have been yellow zinc plated for corrosion resistance to road salt and other environmental contaminates. The flange face of the nuts is serrated for better holding capacity.

Solenoid switch valves and plugs in various Chrysler transmissions cause bore wear as they oscillate and stroke during operation. This wear allows pressure loss and cross-leakage, and often permits the plugs to cock and hang up in the bore. This can result in failsafe mode, various codes, bind-ups, and burnt overdrive or 4th clutches. In 41 and 42 series units, TCC concerns can result, including engine stalling due to improper lockup. Stock drive shaft U-joints aren't designed for rock climbing or other off-road tortures. When you need tough U-joints for crawling up and over rock ledges or through the deepest mud, use Trail-Gear Creepers. These heavy-duty joints are tested to 4,700 ft.-lbs. of torque due largely in part to additional material being added to the center section. Unlike other strong off-road joints, these are originally based on stock designs, making them better for all-around use than many other joints. They include a Zerk fitting and four installation clips. Trail-Gear Creeper U-joints have torque ratings around 1,000 ft.-lbs. higher than stock units, yet cost around the same. They're an incredible deal!

Sonnax 3-4 relay O-ringed end plug kits help restore hydraulic integrity at the end plug of your transmission's valve body. In GM 4L60-E, 4L65-E and 4L70-E units, the hammering effect of the 3-4 relay and/or 3-4 shift valves can cause the end plugs to wear, resulting in loss of 4th signal and/or D3 oil. Too much line pressure can cause damage to various parts under the hood of your vehicle. TransGo vacuum bypass kits will run vacuum to the transmission, even set to full manual. Not doing so will put excessive strain on your pump, seals, and engine thrust bearing. Bypass units are for use on engines with a vacuum modulator that are supercharged or turbocharged—to prevent increased boost from causing runaway line pressure.
