Lug bolts, in short, fasten the wheel of your car to the wheel's hub or brake drum. They eliminate the need for wheel studs, as their design allows the wheel and brake rotor to be directly attached to the hub. The nice thing about standard "star" style 4-way lug wrenches is: they're designed to give you some nice handles for twisting off stubborn lug nuts—and they have four socket options available at all times. The downside is: they can be a hassle to store. Or at least they used to be, until West Coast Accessories developed the fold-down, 4-way lug nut wrench! Now you can remove 17mm, 19mm (3/4 in.), 21mm (13/16 in.), and 23mm (7/8 in.) lug nuts with the tried-and-true design of a star lug wrench—yet can store it under the seat, in the trunk or cargo area, or in a toolbox with taking up a lot of space. These folding lug nut wrenches are made from hardened steel and have a nice, triple chrome plated finish that makes them rust-resistant and easy to clean. The way this tool is designed, you have two folding arms branching from the lug wrench body.
