With lightweight 8mm, 2.020 in. intake valves and 1.600 in. exhaust valves, combustion chamber volumes of 58 or 72cc, and 68cc exhaust ports, AFR's 185cc Ford cylinder heads are designed for 302-351 c.i.d. engines operating from 1,500 to 6,500 rpm. A 3/4 in. thick head deck makes the AFR heads ideal for nitrous or blower applications. Brodix Cylinder Heads 11 SP X cylinder heads offer great flow, straight out of the box. These spread port heads feature a very strong deck surface, allowing the use of nitrous and blowers. Hardened valve seats are standard, allowing use with unleaded fuels, and phosphorous valve guides ensure proper valve guide wear. Brodix recommends that these heads be installed on 400 cu. in. or larger engines. They require a special stud girdle and longer pushrods, and piston valve notches must be checked for clearance. A valve length of .150 in. longer than stock is required. These heads are available in both bare and assembled styles.
