These new clean sheet designed aftermarket blocks are cast in a modern state-of-the-art German foundry on brand new molds and machined in USA on modern high-speed machining centers that can hold the tightest of tolerances. Why start your engine build with a dirty, old, worn-out production block that needs hundreds or thousands of dollars of machine work--when you can start with a new heavy-duty casting full of high-performance features. We ship these blocks mostly finished but leave the cylinder bore .005" undersize, your machine shop will have to hone them for proper size. S&S Cycle's 88 in. big bore kits provide significant benefits by increasing the engine displacement, resulting in more power and torque, especially noticeable in the low to mid-range powerband, while generally maintaining the stock engine character and rideability; essentially giving the bike a stronger punch with increased acceleration without drastically altering its feel. The larger bore size allows for more air and fuel to be ingested per combustion cycle, leading to a noticeable boost in power output, particularly in the low and mid-range rpm bands. For riders who frequently haul loads, the increased torque can be beneficial for pulling heavier trailers or carrying extra cargo. Many 88 in. big bore kits are designed to work with mostly stock components, requiring minimal additional engine modifications for installation. S&S Cycle Super Stock cylinder head kits feature stock-appearing cylinder heads with improved performance. These heads work well with engines of stock displacement but are ideal for engines with a little larger stroke or bore. They are compatible with stock rocker boxes, intake manifolds, and exhaust. The S&S high-performance valve springs allow for camshafts with larger lifts. Super Stock aluminum cylinder head kits are available in multiple finishes depending on application and they contain all the parts needed for installation except where noted.
