Stromberg BIG97 carburetors feature 55 percent increased airflow to put out a whopping 250 cfm! They have the same standard 97 outside shape, but use enlarged 1.175 in. venturi with a super-efficient 20 degree entry angle. The accelerator pump discharge jets are smaller, and flared exit cones build power by slowing down the mixture to reduce turbulence into the manifold plenum. The result is 250 cfm. APR DTR6054 turbocharger systems are direct replacements for the EA888 Gen 3 engine. These upgrades include matching software for various vehicles and mods, providing up to 491 hp and 425 lbs.-ft. of torque, depending on vehicle platform and fueling, all while keeping emissions components unmodified. The software supports premium pump fuel grades, race fuel grades, and even ethanol on the Golf R, S3, and TT S platform with fueling upgrades. For dedicated race cars the turbocharger is designed with plenty of headroom to go even further on your own! Designed and developed from the ground up by APR, DTR6054 turbochargers do not require a core and there's no additional downtime. They are built using an aluminum anti-surge compressor cover with appropriate A/R matched to a larger aircraft-grade, 6061 billet aluminum 60mm compressor wheel, a turbine housing cast with high-temperature 310 stainless steel to take the heat and abuse seen on a road course, and a nickel-based superalloy K418 high-flow 54mm turbine wheel. A German dual ceramic ball bearing center section provides smooth and reliable operation with a better transient response, eliminating the factory failure-prone journal bearing design. Each kit includes the complete turbocharger with compressor inlet pipe, compressor outlet hose, T-bolt clamps, gaskets, O-rings, exhaust ring, exhaust V-band, exhaust manifold gasket, studs, bolts, and washers, oil and coolant line O-rings, and APR's ECU upgrades for select vehicles. The upgrade uses your factory electronic wastegate and diverter valve, and connects to your factory exhaust, intake, turbo outlet pipe, and oil and coolant lines. Tested at various road courses, APR's DTR6054 turbocharger systems do not spike torque hard or run on the edge of what the factory rods and pistons have been known to handle, making them as safe on the stock engine as possible for these power levels. You'd be crazy to throw water into a gas tank and expect to get anywhere—but power and torque can be increased if you inject it into the incoming air charge with Nitrous Express water/methanol injection systems. Cooling the air charge allows for increased timing and the resulting performance benefits. These versatile units have a wide-open throttle switch for naturally aspirated vehicles and an adjustable boost-activated switch for forced induction models. Nitrous Express systems inject a fixed amount of fluid when the WOT switch or boost is activated—and continues until the switch opens again.
