These TCI StreetFighter converters are completely remanufactured with furnace-brazed fins, needle bearings, and a flame-hardened hub. StreetFighter converters will give you about a 3,000 to 3,500 rpm stall speed. They're recommended for use on high-compression street/strip engines and higher performance cars and are used on some of the fastest street machines the world over. Plus, some applications are available with an anti-ballooning plate for use on vehicles equipped with nitrous oxide.

TCI Competition torque converters are proven race winners and an excellent choice for stock and Super Stock cars. They work well with both big and small blocks, producing power between 4,500 and 7,000 rpm. You'll maintain engine rpm between shifts with their efficient design, and gain improved reliability with an oversize caged bearing supporting a new stator. As with every TCI Circle Track transmission, those used in Circle Track packages include several advantages over the commonly used manual transmissions, including lighter weight (50-60 lbs. over standard), more economical pricing and performance improvements. Some of these performance improvements include instant throttle response, superior engine braking capabilities and quicker lap times. The converters used in these packages are specially designed with a lower "positive lock-up" stall speed which can eliminate up to 10 percent of power robbing slippage found in OEM and lesser quality converters. This can ultimately result in reducing lap times by as much as one to two-tenths of a second. TCI StreetFighter transmissions are durable enough to withstand the rigors of even the toughest street machines. Equipped with a manual/automatic valve body, most units allow you to manually shift the vehicle into each gear change or, by placing it in the drive position, remain fully automatic. In either mode, you get a race track shift that bangs through the gears and shaves time off of your ETs. When you use the manual gear selection feature, the StreetFighters upshift and downshift right when you move the lever, with no lag or governor override. When you select the normal drive position, they retain positive automatic shifts for the ease of driving you look for in an automatic transmission.
