Baer Brakes SS4 disc brake systems deliver superb stopping power. These systems feature their S4 4-piston calipers mounted to a slotted, drilled, zinc plated rotor (see diameters). Baer systems include unique billet backing plates that not only act as caliper mounts, but also house the banksia (one-piece) park shoe--a more modern and better working park brake assembly (on rear kits). Baer Brakes SS4 disc brake systems are completed with stainless steel brake hoses and the proper banjo fittings, and come in a choice of red, black, or silver powdercoat for the calipers.

A 4-wheel disc brake upgrade (Corvette-style 4-piston calipers for both front and rear) was offered on the 1968 Camaro as a "heavy-duty service" package sold through Chevrolet car dealers. In 1969, a JL8 package could be ordered as a RPO on production vehicles. These unique, high-end brakes were very rare, being sold on only about 200 production vehicles.
