Spidertrax Off-Road Front Axle Stubs

Spidertrax Off-Road's all-new 1480 40 spline front axle stubs are a reinvention of their already proven 35 spline stub shafts. Manufactured from billet 300M aerospace material with an integrated positive locking design—all while achieving 50 degrees of steering—they're the next best thing in stub shaft technology… and the last stub shafts you'll ever need. These 1480 40 spline stub shafts are designed to work with 60 style U-joints and Spidertrax 40 spline Ultimate Unit Bearings. * Aerospace Quality: Spidertrax follows the strictest AMS Aerospace standards for their heat treatment, complete with double tempering, snap tempering, and cryogenic treatment procedures. Parts are sampled to ensure proper grain structure is achieved up to 0.0003 in. from the surface; that's a depth 1/10 the thickness of a human hair! In summary, you're getting the best material and the best heat treatment on the market. * Locked: Turning 40 degrees is impressive, but Spidertrax axle shafts can turn 50 degrees. Engineers achieved this by positively locking the shaft to the Ultimate Unit Bearing with a billet aluminum cap and cap screw. Keeping that stub shaft tightly secured not only helps with driveline vibration, but helps with overall strength of shaft and U-joint. * 40 Splined: Each stub shaft is 40 splined—a size that makes perfect sense, especially when running properly paired inner axle shafts. When sized with the same shaft diameter as inner shafts, stub shafts end up taking the full punishment in your front-end. The stub shaft should be "stronger" than an inner axle because unlike an inner axle, stub shafts have little room to twist, making them more prone to failure. An added bonus: with many drivers running 40 splined rear Ultimate Unit Bearings, having the same unit bearing up front makes for better serviceability and part simplicity.

Strange S-Trac Differentials

Finding the right differential is often an experiment in compromise--spools, lockers, and limited-slips all have their pros and cons. Strange S-Trac differentials use helical gears for optimum strength while retaining smooth operation similar to a posi. Unlike standard limited-slips, there are no cones, springs, or clutches to wear out; the preloaded 35-spline unit's helical gears are constantly adjusting to the conditions, resulting in positive traction even around turns. Under normal conditions they operate like an open differential, but once slippage occurs a force is created between the pinion and side gears which generate friction, slowing the spinning tire and sending power to the one with the most traction. When power is applied, it wedges all the gears together so the wheels will spin in unison. Their surefire grip is especially useful on curves and corners where both tires receive power, as the inner differentiating allows the racer to hit the throttle midway through the corner and set up for the straightaway. The case halves and internal gears of these S-Tracs use high-rated case-hardened steel--with multiple massive pinion gears to control differential action (6 with Dana 60, STR-D3523; 12 with Ford 9 in., STR-N1980). These differentials do not influence vehicle steering, and have no perceived backlash. No special friction modifiers or additives are required. Whether using your vehicle for street/strip, autocross, road racing, circle track, or off-road, Strange S-Trac differentials will pull you through.

Eaton NoSPIN Differentials

Eaton NoSPIN differentials maximize traction by delivering 100 percent of the torque and power to both drive wheels. They're engineered to keep both wheels in a constant drive mode, yet have the ability to automatically "unlock" during vehicle turning to permit necessary wheel speed differentiation. NoSPIN models are trouble-free and do not require special lubricants or service adjustments. These differential carriers are available for a wide range of differential case design types and axle manufacturers. Core features: * Works in forward and reverse * 100 percent automatic locking action - even with one wheel off the ground * Provides a fully locked rear axle that automatically unlocks with wheel speeds are different. * Legendary durability and proven performance in a wide variety of applications. * Applies all available torque to wheel with most traction to overcome most any terrain challenge.
