You have an alternative choice for flex fuel sensors--AEM Electronics ethanol content sensors. While most gas stations label their flex fuel as E85 (85 percent ethanol/15 percent gasoline), the actual content could be quite different. AEM sensors deliver the ability to determine the composition of the fuel blend pumped into your vehicle at any given time. They measure content percentage and fuel temperature allowing users with programmable engine management systems (capable of tuning for flex fuel) the ability to optimize their engine's tuning calibration for fuel ethanol content. Computech weld-in temperature sensors are designed for use with Computech's EGT Plus Series, as well as DataMaxx data logger systems. The probe is a 3/16 in. diameter and utilizes an 1/8 in. pipe thread weld-in bung. The probe is centered in the tube using a compression fitting screwed into the weld-in bung, both of which are included. The probe lead has a male K-type connector on the end and can easily be shortened to your installation. The Computech weld-in temperature sensors are designed to be used with regular octane gasoline, high-octane racing gas, ethanol, methanol, and nitro mixtures. They cannot be used with diesel, as a specific diesel exhaust gas sensor is required.
