MSD Pro Mag Replacement Cap and Rotor Kits
These Pro Mag replacement cap and rotor kits are injection-molded from Dupont Rynite material for high voltage insulation characteristics with heavy-duty construction. Inside the cap, there are thick vanes to help agitate the air to prevent the chance of crossfire. Stainless terminals are used for resistance to corrosion, caused by ozone in the cap. Tune-up your entire ignition at once with Summit Racing™ Volt Max X-TREME spark plug wires, cap, and rotor kits. They're made to handle extreme conditions while perfectly matching OEM specs. The ultra-low resistance wire core is wrapped in a high dielectric capacitance jacket to keep voltage directed to the plug, and is protected by a tough silicone outer jacket. Stainless steel terminals (solid brass for Ford D.I.S. applications) with hardened, positive snap-locks ensure a permanent connection, and the silicone boots can handle up to 450 degrees F of heat. Proform's Street/Strip HEI distributors have a variety of improvements over stock HEI distributors, such as a 50,000 V coil, a premium hi-dielectric cap with brass terminals, both upper and lower bushings for added durability, a low-saturation ignition module, and no voltage-reducing ballast resistors. These units offer calibrated advance curves that are optimized for maximum combustion efficiency, and the elimination of detonation damage and throttle ping. The distributors offer longer-term durability and a higher voltage spark that permits a bigger spark plug gap, resulting in more power and reduced plug fouling. The Ford models' internal coil and module make it possible for Blue Oval owners to avoid the unsightly wiring of stock Ford electronic ignitions. By eliminating the stock Ford or AMC ballast resistor, you'll get more ignition voltage, resulting in an improved spark.
