They allow you to retain stock water passage connections on the block without the need for any modifications. The plates are a great way to manage water distribution without the hassle of fabricating hose and fittings. Edelbrock carbureted intake manifold valley plates are available in two types--the machined plates are designed for standard applications and will retain the stock distributor location and angle, and the other plates retain over 0.500 in. more material on the flange and end rails, allowing for custom machining on tall deck applications and eliminating the need for spacers.
