Mahle Performance piston rings evolved from their pioneering use of piston ring simulation and computer development tools to develop rings that provide "free" horsepower by successfully minimizing friction. A large selection of coordinated piston ring sets is available in a variety of sizes, designs, materials, and coatings designed to exceed your high performance requirements. The difference is evident on the dyno and on the track. Features and benefits of Mahle Performance piston rings: * 1mm and 2mm steel top rings with patented HV385 supersonic thermal-spray process applied for superior bonding, increased durability, and increased scuff resistance * 1.5mm and 1/16 in. positive-twist, ductile iron, barrel-faced, plasma-moly inlaid top rings * Sport compact ring sets ranging from 81-100mm with steel-nitrided top rings * Traditional, reverse-twist, taper-faced (RBT) cast iron second rings * Tapered Hook Groove (THG) second rings that offer superior oil control when compared to traditional RBT rings * 3-piece style oil control rings in both standard and low tension * Standard-tension expanders are sold separately for select low-tension rings where increased oil control is necessary * CP-20 design oil rings that are easier to install; chemically polished for better oil drain-back with a 20 degree ear angle to ensure side seal around the ring

Mahle Motorsports offers a variety of file fit piston rings which allow you to control the ring end gap. Rings are typically oversized so they can be custom fit for the cylinder. The file fit piston ring sets are available via finished bore size, and include top ring, second ring, and oil rings for the cylinder application.

Mahle PowerPak pistons are forged pistons with steel pins and wire locks. The pistons are hand-deburred and then coated with dry phosphate to protect against ring micro-welding and pin galling during initial startup. For additional performance, Mahle added its proprietary Grafal anti-friction coating to the piston skirts. Part numbers with T on the end have a cutting edge ceramic-based thermic barrier. The barrier is resistant to thermal shock, insulates the piston crown, and reduces heat transfer to increase performance. These replacement pistons are available in a wide variety of size options for fitment with specific engines and pistons.

Withstand the pressure, even under extreme loads, with Mahle cast aluminum diesel pistons. Cast from high-strength aluminum alloys, Mahle diesel pistons are delivered with standard features like ring carriers made from high-strength austenitic cast iron, salt core cooling channels or cooled ring carriers, and a Mahle Grafal coating for optimum skirt performance. Diesel engines with especially high loads also have bushings in the piston pin bores. The high-temperature loads of diesel engines demand improved materials for fatigue resistance, reinforced critical points for maximum strength, and improved piston cooling. Mahle cast aluminum diesel pistons meet these requirements to keep your diesel engine running in top form, despite today's challenges.
