COMP Cams offers a complete line of valve seals, from the stock GM O-rings to the positive-stop PTFE seals. They are a must to keep unwanted oil from entering the combustion chamber through the clearance in the valve guides. The O-ring seals use the standard retainer and oil splash shield. The umbrella seals are normally used when a larger-than-stock diameter spring is used. In the case of a double spring, the positive stop PTFE seals are used. For triple-spring applications, use the smaller-diameter Viton® seals.

Royal Purple break-in oil is designed for the engine builder who has grown increasingly concerned that current engine oils that are API licensed for new cars and trucks do not provide adequate wear protection for their freshly built performance engine, particularly those using flat tappet camshafts and lifters. Royal Purple break-in oil is formulated to provide the critical wear protection needed by the engine valve train and camshaft while allowing new piston rings to quickly seat to the engine cylinder walls. They're heat-treated to a minimum hardness of 60 on the Rockwell C scale, for the ultimate in strength. COMP Cams even gives them a black oxide finish and imprints the length and part number on them.
