Chemical Guys dual action hook-and-loop molded urethane flexible backing plates are available in choice of sizes to suit your project needs. They minimize heat transfer, while flexing to contour to your vehicle's curves. Built tough, the reinforced inner construction utilizes steel struts molded into the center hub to give you plate stability while maintaining a great even surface for pads. These backing plates are smaller than the pads to allow a generous lip of foam to protect the paint surface. Even if you turn the pad onto its side accidentally, there's an inch of soft, beveled urethane between the edge of the plate and the inner construction.
