The F2 steering wheels by MPI are a multi-functional track day, tuning, off-road, drifting, SXS aluminum steering wheel. The special oval shaped grip and extreme thumb inserts make the holding of the wheel a natural feel for the driver. The new aluminum structure features a unibody with no horn button for increase rigidity and durability. The inner structure has been engineered to deform under elevated impacts, absorbing the load and reducing the effect on the drivers upper body, offering an engineered safety advantage. The inner foam injection has been developed to have the highest vibration absorption rate in the industry. The F2 steering wheels are available in three different sizes, with two different covering materials, with or without the MPI Orange center marker. The suede covering and its parallel orange handstitched finish gives a very high grip feel, reducing the effort needed to hold the wheel while increasing driver feeling and giving a sporty look. It is the preferred material option for track and tuning use. The Pixel covering is an extreme weather, washable material and its orange crossed stitching is a preferred material for outdoor and off-road usage. Max Papis and his innovative line of racing steering wheels now includes their KQS model specifically designed for Quarter Midget racers. The KQS has a flat top and bottom to provide more visibility and legroom and 3-bolt design is easily installed to just about every Quarter Midget race car steering column. For all Autodromo 80 Series steering wheel models, MPI improved both the ergonomics and performance, while still keeping the period correct look that is embedded in every detail. To truly add to the Autodromo 80 Series steering wheels' spoke style, MPI used a more modern CNC milling machine that helped in creating the drop shape slots that are the centerpiece of these models. MPI researched the most beautiful top-grain-leather available and utilized a slightly more visible texture for this steering wheel model. These steering wheels also feature a round grip, with back finger grooves for maximum comfort and performance. All of the stitching in the 80 Series edition is a mix between handcrafted techniques and a sewing machine—even the sewing machine is a period correct device replicating the correct vintage techniques and processes. Each Autodromo 80 Series steering wheel comes with a custom made flush horn-button to match each of the spoke finishing treatments. Each unit also comes with a set of six counter-sunk screws to finish off the period correct modern look. The classic Autodromo logo is manually silkscreened on each spoke, as well as an individually engraved serial number to make each steering wheel a true 'one of a kind'. In addition, all Autodromo products have an MPI Vera Pelle added tag for authenticity and come in MPI's vintage-style designed craft box.
