Racepak's Vehicle Network (V-Net) is a "smart data" transfer network able to transmit multiple signals from sensors over a single cable. The key to the V-Net system is the modular connectors that attach each of the devices to the main cable. For a function or component to be monitored on the V-Net, the signal from that device must pass through a sensor and its module (essentially a miniature computer) that identifies and retrieves only the proper incoming signals and allows other signals to pass through. The sensor measures the input from the function or device (i.e. rpm, pressure, temperature, etc.), while the module converts the signal so it can be transmitted over the V-Net. Racepak analog pre-programmed V-Net modules with sensors are programmed to collect specific data and are ready for plug-and-play installation on the V-Net cable. If you are running an aftermarket pump that is mounted external of the fuel tank, you will need to install a draw straw or drill your fuel tank to accommodate a sump. Each of these has some significant drawbacks including the 1/4 tank issues that result in cavitation of the pump when you draw air into the fuel system. To resolve this issue there are Fleece Performance SureFlo performance sending units. SureFlo units are designed to work with aftermarket lift pumps and fit directly into your stock sending unit location. Each one features factory-style quick disconnects to adapt your stock fuel lines at the tank, giving you the cleanest installation available, and requiring no cutting or drilling of the tank. SureFlo works by drawing fuel from, and returning fuel to, the bucket assembly at the base of the unit, ensuring you are always drawing fuel into your pump and not drawing air into the fuel system, as well as eliminating the dreaded 1/4 tank problems.
