They are typically available in four different square shank sizes: 1 1/4" for Class 1 and 2 hitches, 2" for Class 3, 4, and 5 hitches, and 2 1/2" and 3" for Class 5 hitches. Ball mounts can be straight, or have a fixed rise or drop to properly match your vehicle’s height to your trailer. For drivers who have more than one tow vehicle or trailer, an adjustable height ball mount may be the answer.
Receiver hitch ball mounts are typically constructed from fabricated or forged steel, stainless steel, or aluminum.
