Panhard bars (also called track bars, trac bars or panhard rods/track rods) are suspension components that keep the rear axle (or sometimes the front axle on solid axle setups) from moving side to side. They control the lateral position of the axle. Mechanically, each is a rigid bar, with one end connected to a pivot on one side of the chassis, and the other is connected to a pivot on the axle on the opposite side of the vehicle. This allows the axles to travel up-and-down relative to the body, but not front-to-back or side-to side. They’re usually found on vehicles with coil suspensions, as leaf springs would interfere...
Panhard bars (also called track bars, trac bars or panhard rods/track rods) are suspension components that keep the rear axle (or sometimes the front axle on solid axle setups) from moving side to side.
