Fire Extinguisher Classes

There are four classes of fire extinguishers, and each is formulated to put out different types of fires:

• Class A: ordinary combustibles like wood and paper
• Class B: flammable liquids like grease, gasoline, and oil
• Class C: electrical fires
• Class D: flammable metals
