Stock replacement or custom system, finish off your exhaust with a tailpipe from Summit Racing Equipment. Quality exhaust tailpipes are built to last from aluminized steel or stainless steel, and many are mandrel bent for unrestricted flow and increased performance. To add an extra dash of style to your vehicle, select a tailpipe with polished stainless steel tip.

Exhaust Tailpipe Sizing

When building a custom exhaust system from separate components, it’s important to understand how each individual part is sized. Exhaust pipe is generally measured using o.d. (outside diameter) dimensions. Other components like mufflers and exhaust tips are measured using i.d. (inside diameter) dimensions. This allows a 3 inch tailpipe to slip inside a muffler with a 3 inch outlet, creating lap joint. The lap joint then can be secured with a variety of exhaust clamps or you can weld the seam.
