When you’re looking for wide-open exhaust performance and sound at the track but still want a quieter ride home, an electric exhaust cutout kit is the answer! In its simplest form, an exhaust cutout consists of a Y-pipe placed in the exhaust system. One leg of the Y-pipe is routed to the muffler while the other is open to the atmosphere. The outlet of the Y-pipe can be closed off with a bolt-on cover for street use, but that cover must be removed manually before you hit the track, and that means crawling underneath the vehicle.
