X-Pipes

Performance dual exhaust systems often include a crossover pipe (sometimes called a balance pipe) to connect the driver-side and passenger-side pipes. Whether it’s an X-pipe or an H-pipe, the function is roughly the same: they allow pulses of exhaust gases moving at different speeds to sort themselves into a more balanced pattern. This can promote cylinder scavenging, resulting in increased power over a broader rpm range, as well as reducing drone inside the vehicle.
