Lucas FA-4 Heavy-Duty Diesel Motor Oil

Lucas FA-4 heavy-duty diesel motor oil is blended with high quality API Group II and Group III base oils and a cutting-edge additive package providing the robust performance required by modern diesel engines while assuring good fuel economy. Much improved oxidation resistance means this oil lasts longer and protects engines better than previous heavy duty motor oils. Many new diesel engines require FA-4 performance levels. These are in most ways similar to CK-4, but the High Temperature High Shear (HTHS) viscosity is lower than the corresponding SAE 10W-30 CK-4 engine oil. This lower viscosity results in improved fuel economy. The close tolerances of modern diesel engines which specify FA-4 engine oil, means that there is no wear penalty for this improved fuel economy; however, it also means that FA-4 oil is not backwardly compatible with older engines designed to use any previous heavy duty specification (CK-4, CJ-4, Cl-4 etc.).
