These Standard Motor Products replacement coolant level sensors provide the PCM with an analog input signal, along with an oxygen sensor, to go into the closed loop mode of controlling the fuel mixture. They are designed to provide actual engine temperature information to the PCM. The PCM then feeds the sensors a fixed reference voltage of usually 5 volts when the engine is on. The resistance in the sensors is high when cold, and drops as the sensors warm up, to alter the voltage signal back to the PCM. Are you experiencing temperature problems with your vehicle? Try one of these Standard Motor Products replacement coolant level sensors to eliminate any chance of problems.
