The EGR valve is an essential part of your vehicle’s emissions system. The EGR system redirects a portion of your vehicle’s exhaust gases back into the combustion chamber to help reduce NOx emissions. These exhaust gasses reduce the amount of oxygen available in the combustion chamber, as well as introduce water vapor (a natural byproduct of combustion), cooling down the combustion temperatures and reducing NOx emissions.
