Four Seasons Deslugger compressor clutch timers extend A/C compressor life by eliminating liquid slugging. Low mounted compressors collect oil and liquid refrigerant when a vehicle sits. The result can be hydraulic lock with catastrophic damage on initial compressor engagement. These clutch timers solve the liquid slugging problem by pulsing the compressor clutch multiple times during initial engagement. By gradually engaging the compressor, trapped liquid is gently moved out. Once the brief deslugging function is complete, the compressor reverts back to normal cycling operation.
