Champion racing spark plugs position the spark approximately 1/16 in. into the combustion chamber and feature colder heat ranges that use a shortened ground electrode. This is designed to aid in exposing the spark to the air/fuel mixture to help prevent pre-ignition from an overheated ground electrode.
