Kanter Rod Bearings

Kanter rod bearings are precision-made for classic cars to support the crankshaft, reduce friction between the rod and crank, and allow the piston's linear motion to become the crankshaft's rotation. These components are crucial for converting piston movement into crankshaft rotation, fitting into the connecting rod's "big end" with a cap, and relying on engine oil for a protective film. Kanter rod bearings come as two semi-circular halves (shells) that fit into the connecting rod and its cap. They are available in standard sizes, as well as undersizes to match worn crankshaft journals, ensuring smooth rotation and proper lubrication for vintage engines.

Kanter Cam Bearings

Cam bearings provide a low-friction surface, supporting the cam shaft, allowing it to spin freely, and critical for proper engine operation. Kanter offers new cam bearings for old cars, covering all domestic makes and models from the 1930s to the 1980s. Made from quality materials, they will provide the proper fit and function to repair or restore your vehicle's operation. Available individually or in sets, select the Kanter cam bearing(s) needed.

Kanter Coated Pistons

Kanter Auto offers coated engine pistons for hundreds of applications, including many Ford, Mercury, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Jeep, Willys, Chevrolet, Chrysler, DeSoto, Dodge, Plymouth, Buick, Pontiac, and American Motors vehicles from the 1940s, '50s, '60s, and '70s. These cast aluminum replacements feature a high performance, anti-friction coating designed to extend engine life, reduce scuffing, and improve sealing. This coating is applied using an advanced process that minimizes blow-by and noise, especially during cold starts. The coating can be beneficial for classic and high performance vehicles, particularly those with a history of overheating, detonation, or scuffing. Benefits of coated pistons: * The anti-friction coating prevents the piston from scuffing against the cylinder wall, which is particularly helpful during cold starts when oil is not yet fully circulated * By reducing friction and wear, the coating helps to prolong the life of the piston and other engine components * The coating contributes to better cylinder sealing, leading to more efficient engine performance * The tighter clearances allowed by the coating help to reduce piston noise that can occur when an engine is cold * These pistons can be installed without modifying the existing cylinder wall clearance, making them a direct replacement in most cases
