This is accomplished by eliminating the reverse lockout feature of the ratchet gate plate—ensuring quick shifts from forward to reverse gear in an attempt to save the front-end from going over backwards when climbing steep hills. XDR Off-Road Magnum Grip Dual-Gated shifters are designed for use on 2014-20 Polaris RXR XP and 2017-19 Can-Am Maverick X3 side-by-sides. This trick shifter features two shift patterns: standard-gated and "Hill Killer"—designed to be used as a safety device climbing steep hills. Simply drop the shifter down into the lower Hill Killer shift gate, which eliminates the reverse lockout feature of the ratchet gate plate.
