Flame-Thrower Race HEI distributors from PerTronix produce 42 percent more energy in the coil, with 46 percent faster spark breakdown time. This allows 48 percent more peak current to reach the spark plug, compared to their Street/Strip HEI distributors. That's an enormous improvement over stock HEIs and most aftermarket HEI distributors. A specially designed vacuum lockout mechanism prevents timing adjustments that change rotor phasing, adversely affecting the burn time and efficient fuel combustion. The rotor plates are TIG-welded to the mechanical advance mechanism, preventing high-rpm distortion and improving mechanical reliability.
