MSD Pro-Billet Ready-to-Run distributors are the perfect upgrade for weak OE electronic distributors, outdated points distributors, and large HEIs or DuraSparks. All that's required is to install the distributor in the engine, and connect three wires and the coil! A maintenance-free magnetic pickup accurately triggers this ignition with increased output from the amplifier, easily outperforming stock ignitions. The housing is machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum, using state-of-the-art CNC mills and lathes for a unit with no porosity or weak areas. Having a huge blower mounted on top of your engine is cool, but it can lead to limited choices for a distributor. The same goes for tri-power carburetor setups and big air cleaner assemblies, so MSD decided to morph their crab cap crank trigger distributor with a standard Chevy model to come up with a flat-top model! These MSD Flat-Top Pro-Billet distributors sit low in the engine block, and are topped with MSD's special crab cap that positions the spark plug terminals horizontally to give you plenty of clearance. These distributors incorporate a mechanical advance assembly that you can easily tune with the supplied springs and stop bushings. For trigger accuracy, a maintenance-free magnetic pickup is used. This pickup plugs directly into an MSD ignition control.
