Scott Drake Double Hump HiPo air cleaners are modeled after the extremely rare 14 in. air cleaners that were standard on 260s and early HiPo 289s found in 1964 1/2 to 65 Mustang, 1963 to 65 Ford Falcon, 1963 to 64 Shelby Cobra, 1963 to 65 Ford Fairlane, and 1963 to 65 Falcon Sprint. Unlike other HiPo air cleaners, they feature a unique double hump chrome lid, rather than the more common flat top lid used on later model HiPo engines. The lid also has two indents to lock the wing nut in place securely. The base of the air cleaners omits the breather port and is finished in a semi-gloss black like the originals. Attention was paid to the filter as well to match the original design with a yellow filter element, a round hole perforated screen, and orange gasket material to complete the authentic appearance. Scott Drake offers reproductions of the extremely rare 1967-68 Early Mustang 390 GT High Performance air cleaners. These concours-correct models are available with or without the Emissions Control Tube, and they include a blue base and chrome lid. The air cleaners are an excellent stock-appearing performance upgrade for the very restrictive 1968-70 390-428 air cleaners. Some early production 1968 390 GTs may have come from the factory with this air cleaner.
