Standard Motor Knock Sensors

Don't take chances with an old, questionable, or malfunctioning knock sensor that diminishes your vehicle's fuel economy, or worse, your engine. The engine knock sensors play a dual role in helping to monitor and protect your engine. Like other sensors, knock sensors monitor engine operation to optimize performance. In addition, knock sensors protect the engine against power-robbing and potentially destructive engine knock. Standard Motor Products replacement knock sensors are designed to exceed OEM specifications for accurate, reliable, maintenance-free operation. Trust your vehicle's engine management system needs to Standard Motor Performance.

Standard Motor Crankshaft Position Sensors

These Standard Motor Products replacement crankshaft position sensors are designed to send a signal to the ECM to determine engine rpm, crankshaft position, and engine misfire. They consist of a permanent magnet, yoke, and coil. The Standard Motor Products replacement crankshaft position sensors are mounted close to a tooth gear. As each tooth moves by the sensor, AC voltage pulses are inducted into the coil. Each tooth produces a pulse; as the gear rotates faster, there are more pulses produced. The ECM then determines the speed at which the component is revolving, based on the number of pulses. Therefore, the number of pulses in one second is the signal frequency. If you're experiencing crankshaft position sensor failure, try one of these Standard Motor Products replacement crankshaft position sensors.

Standard Motor Vehicle Speed Sensors

Replace your worn or malfunctioning vehicle speed sensor with one of these Standard Motor Products vehicle speed sensors. Depending upon a vehicle's equipment, the vehicle speed sensor commonly called a VSS may influence or control more systems than any other single sensor. Early-model vehicle speed sensors were just used to regulate the cruise control and control transmission shifts. Now, with OBD-II, vehicle speed is considered a part of the overall engine operating strategies, affecting both fuel delivery and ignition timing. The operations of the idle-air control valve and canister-purge cycle are regulated, in part, by the VSS. Automatic transmissions need VSS data to provide the best performance and mileage. Torque converter clutch operation is controlled by the VSS. In an electronically shifted transmission, VSS signals, instead of hydraulic pressure in the valve body, are used to determine shift points. Don't take chances with your vehicle's performance--insist on Standard Motor Products quality vehicle speed sensors.
