Improved Racing set out to design the best air-oil separating catch cans specifically for the factory supercharged vehicles. Focused on three simple design goals: maximized efficiency, durability, and ease of use, the development of the CCS oil catch cans happened over several years and included ANSYS Fluent CFD simulations, extensive bench tests, and on-vehicle street and track tests. Final prototype testing also included a 9-month beta testing program in collaboration with various road racers, drag racers, and drifters. They feature custom grooves in the catch can's inlet that turbulates the air longer and ensures that all of the oil sinks to the bottom, leaving nothing but clean air to pass through the 40 micron bronze filter to the intake. An internal baffle keeps the collected oil from splashing around under race conditions. These catch cans are machined from 100 percent billet 6061 aluminum, and accept AN fittings at the inlet, outlet, and drain area—allowing for over 27 possible configurations. For maximum fitment options, the top cog mounting setup enables the cans to be mounted from multiple angles.
