When changing front struts, the clevis bolts which are removed from the lower mount are a torque-to-yield bolt. This means that once they are removed they have to be replaced. Pedders strut clevis mount bolts are designed to fit a range of struts and are necessary to locate the lower section of the front strut to the stub axle.
