The lobes are designed for stability at high rpm with the spring pressures found in quality .600 and .670 in. spring packs. If you're looking for a cost-effective camshaft solution to delete that pesky DOD—Chevrolet Performance stock replacement non-DOD camshafts are the answer. They're designed to work with OEM valve springs/pushrods in the DOD-equipped Gen 4 trucks. These OEM camshafts are standard equipment on non-DOD 5.3L trucks. Since they come as a single-bolt style, new timing gear won't be necessary. Just swap cams and additional DOD delete parts (sold separately) and you're ready to roll! Performance-minded engine builders know there's an inherent issue with valvetrain deflection when using stock rocker arm mounting in Chevrolet Gen III-IV-cylinder heads. BTR LS shaft rocker kits are designed to significantly reduce deflection, thereby improving both performance and durability. Each kit features technology typically only found in high-end shaft rocker systems. These shaft rocker systems consist of a billet steel stand equipped with four shafts per cylinder head, fasteners and bearings. The shafts are made from genuine 52100 bearing steel. Each pair of rockers has five fasteners mounting them to the rocker stand, compared to the traditional single bolt per rocker configuration. They have the overlap of big race cams YET work with a stock converter and flat top pistons! They makes so much torque, gears are no longer required - but 4.11's are always the fastest. Headers and free flowing exhaust recommended but Zoomies really let folks know you're not playin' around. If you can tune for one of our Stage four race cams, you've got the right stuff to tune these. Gas Mileage not included.
