Hybrid Racing offers cold air intake systems for a variety of applications, including select Honda© and Acura© models. Designing an intake system with a set of guidelines isn't hard to achieve. However, building an intake system that not only fits every engine combination while allowing that setup to produce more power is. Hybrid chose to narrow that field and focus on the best recipe for power gains. Combined with its high-flow velocity air filter, these cold air intake systems have shown gains of up to 10 percent (5-10 hp) across the powerband compared to a short ram system, while significantly reducing intake air temperatures. Don't want to relocate your battery? No problem. The Hybrid Racing RSX intake allows for the battery to stay in the OEM location. These intakes require a 70mm or larger throttle body and the RBC/RRC style intake manifolds. Fitment or compatibility with an OEM PRB intake is not guaranteed. Slight trimming of the LH inner fender lining is required, and the removal or relocation of the OEM windshield washer bottle is needed. Alterations to cars running OEM Type R brake cooling ducts may be necessary. The included radiator hose fits the K20A/A2/A3/Z1 water neck. It may not fit the K20Z3/K24 water neck. Hybrid Racing offers K-Swap cold air intake systems for a variety of applications, including select Honda© and Acura© cars from 1992 and up. These replacements are true 3 in. intakes that do a better job of keeping your intake charge cool and your engine bay looking hot. The most obvious feature on these intakes is the 100 percent glass-reinforced silicone construction. By using silicone, Hybrid created an intake that actually insulates the air going into the engine. For K-Swaps, this is particularly important since most setups put the cold air intake directly behind the radiator. What many people don't consider is that since aluminum is such a fantastic thermal conductor (hence why it is used in radiators), an aluminum cold air intake will actually absorb heat given off by the radiator. This increases the intake air temperature while decreasing the motor's performance. The silicone counteracts this by acting as a thermal barrier (much like header wrap); this leads to lower intake air temps and a denser intake charge. Another benefit of the silicone construction is that there's no need for a coupler at the throttle body. The intake connects to the throttle body with just a single T-bolt clamp, meaning less turbulence as air enters the intake manifold. A less noticeable but very important feature of these intakes is that they work with RBC, RRC, and PRB intake manifolds. Most competing K-Swap intakes work with either the PRB intake manifold or the RBC/RRC intake manifolds, but not both. Hybrid took the extra time to create an intake that would work with all three! On top of that, the kits are designed to work with OEM K-Series throttle bodies AND big bore throttle bodies. The included T-bolt clamp is custom designed to fit both applications. And who can forget about looks! Everyone knows that with K-Swaps, making power and going fast is the name of the game, but looking good while you do it doesn't hurt either. That's why Hybrid Racing made this one of the cleanest looking intakes on the market. When installed, only the intake tube and a single T-bolt clamp are visible. The hanger that attaches to the chassis is neatly tucked into the driver's side fender for the cleanest install possible. Hybrid Racing offers cold air intake systems for a variety of racing and off-road applications, including select Honda© and Acura© models. Engineers spent countless hours testing and refining this design to ensure it was the absolute best intake available for the 8th Gen Civic Si platform. These intakes are designed to make big gains on any setup, from totally stock to high-lift cams and huge exhausts. Dyno graphs are provided to show the intake's effectiveness against its competitors, but for example, Hybrid saw 14 hp peak gain and 9 hp average gain against the stock air box. Against competing 3.5 in. cold air intakes, Hybrid saw typical peak and average gains of around 2-3 hp with a much smoother power band—meaning more power and better drivability. The first and perhaps most obvious feature of these intakes its full silicone construction. The 1/4 in. thick fiberglass-reinforced silicone tubing is sturdy enough to withstand engine vacuum and insulates your intake charge better than any metal or plastic intake on the market. This leads to very cold intake air temperatures, meaning a denser air charge and more overall power. Another power-adding feature is the included velocity stack. The 6 in. velocity stack is designed to lower inlet restrictions and allow more air into your engine, again leading to a denser, more powerful inlet charge. One very cool component in each kit is the injection molded air bypass manifold. These manifolds serve a number of functions. They provide attachment points for the factory MAF, as well as for the (included) silicone tubing that attaches to the factory valve cover vent and air bypass valve. They also have a built-in air bypass feature that allows air into the engine when the intake's filter becomes wet. This helps to avoid the dreaded hydro-lock that so many people normally worry about in heavy rain. Hybrid Racing tested the bypass valve by totally submerging an air filter in a bucket of water and running the motor. Even when totally submerged, the engine idled and rev'd safely without hydro-locking. Of course, it's still advised to practice caution when going through deep water in any car! The biggest gain the bypass manifolds provide is the reduction of parasitic Helmholtz resonance. The internal geometry of the air bypass manifold is designed to smooth out your power band. The end result is an intake that (on average) makes up to 14 hp over the stock air box and even 2-3 more horsepower than any other 3.5 in. intakes. Also included with each kit is a powdercoated steel battery tray that relocates the battery in front of the transmission to make room for this intake's massive piping. Hybrid also provides a silicone upper radiator hose to give better clearance than the stock radiator hose. Silicone tubing is provided to replace the OEM rubber valve cover breather and air bypass tube. This gives the engine bay a cleaner, more finished appearance. The kit includes all of the bolts, hose clamps, and hardware needed to install the intake and battery tray. Notes: * You will need a tuning software like Hondata's Flash Pro to tune the car after installation. This kit should be run using MAP tunes only and should not be used with the factory ECU calibration.
