You don’t want to be a one-tire fryer at the track, and welds can weaken your axles—full spools and mini spools are the stronger way to lock your axles together for maximum traction!
Spools (also called full spools) replace your differential carrier and lock the left and right axles together. There are no moving parts, they add support to the ring gear, and they can save unsprung weight.
Mini spools fit inside an existing open differential, replacing the side and spider gears. They’re usually less expensive, but aren’t as strong as full spools.

Strange Lightweight Pro Race Spools
Strange Lightweight Pro Race spools give you the traction that you need by locking the axle shafts together, forcing your rear tires to turn at the same speed. They're CNC-machined from forged chromoly steel to provide a more rigid ring gear mounting. This eliminates the gear failure caused by case deflection or differential side-gear failure. For even lighter weight, there are aluminum-alloy versions available for some applications.
