Holley Sniper Automatic Transmission Controllers
The Holley Sniper Transmission Controller (STC) is designed for common GM and Ford electronic 4-speed automatic transmissions. Three part numbers cover a complete range of applications—all Sniper EFI systems, Sniper 2 EFI-specific (M8 CAN connection), or a full standalone unit. The Sniper specific applications connect to your Sniper EFI system via CAN bus and are programmed through the existing Sniper 3.5 in. touch screen. No programming is available with PC computer software; however, the transmission functions can be data-logged and reviewed with Sniper PC software. The Standalone version includes a dedicated 3.5 in. touch screen and is primarily intended for carbureted engine combinations. GM and Ford 4-speed electronic overdrive transmissions are simple in operation. They have four speeds, with the top gear being an overdrive; and all have a lockup torque converter that eliminates any slippage when the lockup is applied. With a stock torque converter, the lockup should only be applied under light throttle conditions or excessive wear will occur. Upshifts, downshifts, and torque converter lockup are based on vehicle speed and throttle position (or optionally the MAP sensor) and are adjustable with the 3.5 in. touch screen. MSD Atomic Transmission Control Modules
MSD Atomic transmission control modules are designed to adjust the operating parameters of later model electronically controlled 4-speed automatic overdrive transmissions. They're simple to configure with the supplied hand-held monitor--no PC required. You now have access to adjust shift points, adjust torque converter clutch behavior, select different levels of shift firmness, select between auto-shift and manual shift mode, and activate dyno mode to deliver repeatable chassis dyno results. The included hand-held monitor connects to them and can be left in place as a dashboard to monitor the transmission in real time, or can be disconnected when the configuration is complete. Once installed, these modules need only a few basic parameters to complete the initial setup. First, select the type of transmission you are using--all supported transmission types are listed in the menu. Other required fields include the number of engine cylinders, rear-end gear ratio, and tire height. Once this has been completed, you can now start and drive the vehicle, while taking advantage of the advanced setup menu items to dial-in the transmission to your liking. You can feel the results in real-time as a passenger manipulates the parameters and monitors the real-time data. Data available for viewing includes engine speed, vehicle speed, throttle position, transmission fluid temperature, shifter position, and commanded gear. Best of all, the MSD Atomic transmission control modules are available as completely stand-alone units or Brainwave-compatible for the Atomic EFI systems. A transmission controller harness is sold separately.

Sonnax 1-2 and 2-3 Accumulator Control Valve Kits
Ford E4OD and 4R100 transmissions often display shifting irregularities which can be traced to problems with accumulator control valves. Wear ridges form as the valve moves in and out of the bore. Under high-pressure shifts, the valve is allowed to stroke too far, causing it to hang up on these ridges and block oil flow to the associated clutch. This results in soft shifts, loss of gear, and burnt clutches. Sonnax 1-2 and 2-3 accumulator control valve kits resolve these issues and provide a firmer-than-OE shift quality. TransGo Automatic Transmission Solenoid Kits
TransGo Performance offers solenoid repair kits for nearly a dozen automatic transmission applications, including models from Mopar and GM. Transmissions often come with contaminated governor pressure solenoids. This results in complaints of wrong gear starts, as well as governor solenoid and sensor performance codes. The computer uses the governor pressure solenoid to generate governor pressure relative to road speed, emulating what the hydraulic governor did in older 'RH' series transmissions. The computer varies the duty cycle to the PWM governor pressure solenoid to achieve the desired output pressure. Simultaneously, it monitors the feedback from the governor pressure sensor to confirm that the governor pressure is doing what it is commanded to do. When the solenoid sticks or is restricted, the computer notices that the pressure reading from the sensor does not match the desired governor pressure and sets a code which puts the unit in limp-in mode, resulting in 3rd gear start and no shift. These TransGo governor pressure solenoid repair kits contain everything you need to take apart the original equipment solenoids, restore the valve bore, then replace the spool valve, spring and cap with new ones. The repair kits include enough parts to rebuild multiple solenoids. The repair kits are available with or without tools.
