Sonnax Line pressure booster kits allow you to shift aggressively and then feel the tranny grab the clutches with more power when it changes gear. The larger boost valves and matching regulator springs raise line pressure progressively as higher pressure is commanded. These kits modify the sensor signal, which causes the computer to create a pressure increase. They're installed between the pressure sensor and vehicle harness using OE-style sealed connectors; no modifications are needed to the transmission.

Sonnax TCC regulator and isolator valve kits assist in recovering hydraulic control and renew TCC performance. Severe wear of the TCC (torque convertor clutch) regulator valve bore, caused by oscillation of the OE valve, allows the regulated converter to apply pressure to your exhaust. This is a primary cause for TCC-related slip code and overheated converters. Exhaust pressure also diminishes line pressure, which can result in burnt clutches. Excess wear at the isolator valve bore reduces TCC apply pressure. Reconditioning the bore and installing a Sonnax TCC regulator and isolator valve kit will restore normal TCC operation by reestablishing the hydraulic integrity of this circuit. Vehicles with GM 200-4R and 4L60 transmissions often have problems with poor reverse boost or upshifts in manual low. These are generally caused by a worn reverse boost valve sleeve or wear at the pump body. Sonnax offers a larger ratio (.283 in.) reverse boost valve kit to restore the hydraulic integrity of the assembly. Due to the differences in the thermal expansion rate of steel and aluminum when the transmission approaches operating temperature, the sleeve has been allowed excessive clearance and scrubs the bore. FTI Performance offers torque converter dump valve kits for a variety of transmission applications, including the GM Powerglide. Typically used in drag racing, a properly designed, tuneable dump valve system lowers the oil level in the torque converter by bypassing charge oil back to the oil pan causing cavitation within the converter. This cavitation reduces the forward thrust generated by the converter against the flexplate—which helps to reduce engine thrust bearing wear, increase available stall speed, engine responsiveness and boost response/transition while staging against a transbrake in forced induction applications.

Too much line pressure can cause damage to various parts under the hood of your vehicle. TransGo vacuum bypass kits will run vacuum to the transmission, even set to full manual. Not doing so will put excessive strain on your pump, seals, and engine thrust bearing. Bypass units are for use on engines with a vacuum modulator that are supercharged or turbocharged—to prevent increased boost from causing runaway line pressure.
