Transmission valve bodies only last so long. When it's time for replacement, you can spend extra green and get new, or buy Sonnax remanufactured valve bodies. To eliminate separator plate cracking or cross-leaking, Sonnax adds a 2-3 accumulator support plate before remanufacturing. Each core's disassembled, cleaned, updated, tested, and parts are replaced as necessary. These direct replacement units are electronically and hydraulically tested and include lockup and shift solenoids. The OE pressure regulator valve design prevents adequate cooler flow at low rpm and high-pressure conditions, which can create overheating. Additionally, in 1999 and later vehicles, the factory EPC pressure was set high at idle, resulting in engine surge conditions in GM 4L80-E and 4L85-E units. Sonnax lube-regulated pressure regulator valves provide a significant increase in cooler flow under low rpm and high-pressure conditions that benefits all vehicles—and eliminates the need for reprogramming 1999 and later vehicles with high EPC pressure at idle.

Sticking of bypass components, spring relaxation, or poor ball seat in Ford 4R100 and E4OD units will allow the bypass to open at lower cracking pressure. This reduces TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) apply pressure, cooler flow at the overdrive section, and radiator flow responsible for heat transfer. Sonnax automatic transmission cooler bypass valve kits allow the bypass valve assembly to be rebuilt, salvaging the OE fittings and maintaining cracking pressure at 70 to 75 psi. Sonnax TCC regulator and isolator valve kits assist in recovering hydraulic control and renew TCC performance. Severe wear of the TCC (torque convertor clutch) regulator valve bore, caused by oscillation of the OE valve, allows the regulated converter to apply pressure to your exhaust. This is a primary cause for TCC-related slip code and overheated converters. Exhaust pressure also diminishes line pressure, which can result in burnt clutches. Excess wear at the isolator valve bore reduces TCC apply pressure. Reconditioning the bore and installing a Sonnax TCC regulator and isolator valve kit will restore normal TCC operation by reestablishing the hydraulic integrity of this circuit.
