TCI Super StreetFighter transmissions bridge the gap between the StreetFighters and full Competition series transmissions. Like the StreetFighter units, these are equipped with 100 percent tested, manual/automatic valve bodies. That means that most units allow you to manually shift the vehicle into each gear change or, by placing it in the drive position, remain fully automatic. In either mode, you get a racetrack shift that bangs through the gears and shaves time off your ETs. When you use the manual gear selection feature, the Super StreetFighters upshift and downshift right when you move the lever, with no lag or governor override. When you select the normal drive position, the transmissions retain positive automatic shifts, for the ease of driving you look for in an automatic transmission.

Tremec has normally sourced their aftermarket transmissions from the OE side, such as the Magnum T-56 and the T-5, but this new design is made from the ground up as a strictly aftermarket transmission. RAM Pro Street dual disc clutch kits are precision-balanced for smooth operation—and come equipped with a billet cover for optimum release length, a comfortable pedal effort, and a high diaphragm finger position for excellent high-RPM shifting capability. The sprung hub top disc absorbs shock and reduces driveline noise. Pro Street kits are available with your choice of an organic friction disc or a metallic disc. Organic disc models are capable of handling 500 to 800 hp; the metallic disc models can handle between 600 and 1,200 hp. RAM Pro Street dual disc clutch kits include a billet aluminum, SFI-certified flywheel with a steel insert that has sufficient mass to draw heat away from the clutch without distortion.
