They feature either a NASCAR-derived 7.25 in. 2- or 3-disc clutch that is rebuildable and optimized for strength without compromising weight or moment-of-inertia. Each clutch also utilizes the latest in gear-drive technology, with .104 in. race or .250 in. "rally" friction material that allows for quick, smooth shifts, plus slotted pressure plate and floater plates allow for better gas evacuation and superior cooling. During inspection, racers and builders examine the friction discs, but often overlook the importance of the pressure plate and floater plates contained within the housing. While these parts don't suffer as high a wear rate as the friction disc, they are still susceptible to wear. Reliability is paramount in motorsports, and without full attention to all of the clutch components within the unit, chances are you could become sidelined prematurely. Don't let that happen. To avoid clutch failures, be sure to replace all worn components with brand new ones from Quarter Master.
