MSD Atomic transmission control modules are designed to adjust the operating parameters of later model electronically controlled 4-speed automatic overdrive transmissions. They're simple to configure with the supplied hand-held monitor--no PC required. You now have access to adjust shift points, adjust torque converter clutch behavior, select different levels of shift firmness, select between auto-shift and manual shift mode, and activate dyno mode to deliver repeatable chassis dyno results. The included hand-held monitor connects to them and can be left in place as a dashboard to monitor the transmission in real time, or can be disconnected when the configuration is complete. Once installed, these modules need only a few basic parameters to complete the initial setup. First, select the type of transmission you are using--all supported transmission types are listed in the menu. Other required fields include the number of engine cylinders, rear-end gear ratio, and tire height. Once this has been completed, you can now start and drive the vehicle, while taking advantage of the advanced setup menu items to dial-in the transmission to your liking. You can feel the results in real-time as a passenger manipulates the parameters and monitors the real-time data. Data available for viewing includes engine speed, vehicle speed, throttle position, transmission fluid temperature, shifter position, and commanded gear. Best of all, the MSD Atomic transmission control modules are available as completely stand-alone units or Brainwave-compatible for the Atomic EFI systems. Lakewood safety bellhousings are designed for maximum performance and durability.
