Introduced in the early 1980s, the Tremec T-5 has become a highly evolved, extremely compact, and versatile 5-speed manual transmission. In its rich history, the T-5 has been installed as original equipment in pickup trucks, SUVs, and performance automobiles. Today, the T-5 is available in its best form to date—sometimes referred to as "world class" or Z spec (from Ford's part number 7003Z). It has a 2.95 first gear with .63 overdrive, hardened gears, short throw factory shifter, steel front bearing retainer, tapered output shaft bearing, and a seven tooth-drive speedometer gear. Best of all, the T-5 transmission has a torque rating of 300 lbs.-ft., making it a perfect option for any moderate powered hot rod, street car, or kit car. Based on an ultra-durable, one-piece forging, Sonnax Smart-Tech input shaft and piston kits have a hub with longer front clutch splines. Combining longer splines with a thinner billet aluminum direct piston allows for one extra OE thickness direct friction plate, while keeping original thickness steels, backing plate, original retaining ring and OE clutch clearances.

RevMax's billet modified high-pressure pumps have been upgraded and modified to be able to produce over 325 psi with proper tuning. However, you would need a RevMax 68RFE valve body to be able to achieve more than 175 psi because of factory restrictions. All 68RFE pumps have been reworked with new valving and springs, and have passed multiple vacuum and pressure tests to ensure proper operation and reliability for many years. Select the RevMax modified high-pressure billet pump designed for your transmission. Note: Even though RevMax's pump can achieve extremely high pressure, it does not mean that they recommend more than 225 psi in the 68RFE transmissions.
