FTI Performance SST Series custom-order torque converters are available for use with a variety of transmissions, including Powerglide, THM350, and THM400. The 9 in. units are used by top drag racers. A torque converter is what transmits torque from the engine to a rotating driven load. It's a type of fluid coupling which allows the engine to spin somewhat independently of the transmission. SST Series torque converters are available with a 0-blade stator for a turbo spline, or the looser 6T stator model.
